The Forgotten Supercar

Early one morning a quarter of a century ago, Italian government officials arrived outside a gleaming, state-of-the-art architectural masterpiece that had been hailed as one of the most ambitious and exciting industrial sites in the world when it was unveiled barely five years earlier. Their purpose? To lower the curtain on a quixotic adventure, a roller-coaster of ambition, money, showmanship and bitter rivalries. It all came crashing down to earth at 8.30am that day when the official seals were applied to the entrance by the bankruptcy judge. The factory has been abandoned, untouched and largely unseen for the past two decades. Until now. This is the story of the forgotten supercar, told on camera for the first time by the men who tried to rewrite the rulebook by reviving a long-lost legend. They succeeded in creating their own motoring history, but not with the final chapter they intended.
