The most sought-after version of the Tour de France, named after its ’14 Louvre’ roof sail panel configuration, this is the only Tour de France variant now eligible for the historic Mille Miglia; all other bodystyles were built after the strict May 1957 cut-off date for acceptance. This particular example was raced in period by Italian drivers Ovidio Capelli and Gino Munaron and, unlike most of its sisters which led very hard lives- they were raced, after all- it has survived with all its major components intact and original. It also boasts a race history second only to the ex-Gendebien berlinetta. It is easily identifiable as the only ’14 louvre’ berlinetta to feature a roof mounted windscreen wiper. From almost three decades in the same private ownership, it is a very special Ferrari indeed, one of the two best of a very select breed.
