- An interesting and unusual entrant for world class historic events
This rare competition prepared Porsche 356 Carrera GT (the suffix distinguishing it from the GS version in road trim) was supplied new to Italy on 27th May 1959 via Bologna dealer Autogerma to its first owner Natale Gotelli in the sea port of Genova. The factory Kardex data card shows the original colour as metallic silver with leatherette trim. It was raced extensively in period by the Jolly Club, also based in Genova, later passing to Milan and finally, many years later, into the present Italian ownership. Serafini of Bologna restored the car (now fitted with engine no. 295084, a correct-type swap) since when it has covered zero mileage. A jewel of precision German engineering and a delight for connoisseurs of early four-cam competition Porsches, it is beautifully presented and ideal for all manner of historic events where its giant-killing pace and distinctive, howling engine note will be welcomed by everyone except perhaps drivers of slower cars.
