Gold Rush

Others have the privilege of making motoring history: we do our part to keep it alive and try to tell some of the lesser-known stories. This is one about a Swiss gentleman driver who, with his exotic blonde wife, became a familiar sight on the racetracks of Europe in the early 1960s at the wheel of a distinctive Ferrari granturismo. It's a car we've come to know well, having supervised its painstaking rebirth after years of neglect and finding it a new home in 2016. You'd think that an amateur pairing from a country not associated with motorsport might have been happy minding its own business at the back of the grid. But you'd be mistaken. After all, people once claimed that a landlocked country would never achieve much in sailing.
