1999 Aston Martin V600 Vantage Le Mans
- The ultimate evolution of the original Aston Martin V8 bloodline
- One of just 40 Le Mans built, and just four originally to 600bhp, 6 speed manual spec
- Two owners and 28,715km from new
- The most sought after Aston Martin of the modern era
For the Aston Martin collector, probably no road car built by the Works can match this for rarity, power and old school charisma. Its price tag at launch approached a quarter of a million pounds. The specification of the 40 cars varied from customer to customer, but most would agree that this particular example is the ultimate: just four (yes, four) had the 600bhp version of the supercharged engine (550bhp was standard) and the six speed manual gearbox (automatic and five speed were also offered). Of the 40, 15 were right-hand drive, 22 were left-hand drive and three were converted from RHD to LHD.
Chassis ‘70256’ was purchased from its original owner in 2001, when the mileage stood at 13,000km, and today the car has covered 28,500km. Maintenance has been entrusted to Auto Performance in Paris, who supplied the car originally, including a recent service (April 2011). Handsomely finished in Aston Martin Racing Green with matching green leather dashboard top roll and beige suede/ tobacco leather seating piped green, the car is believed accident free, has its original owners manuals and is French (EU) registered. This is an exciting ‘find’ from private ownership and a very rare motor car.
